My Alma Mater

I graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a major in Language Arts and a minor in Math.

Academic goals

I want to become a Level 2 Certified Google Educator.

Career goals

My goal is to get all elementary teachers using technology in their classrooms effectively and efficiently in order to impact student achievement positively.

My Family

My husband of 19 years, Brian, is a business banker for Chase.  My oldest daughter, Sara, is a sophomore at Churchill High School in Livonia.  My youngest daughter, Alison, is an eighth-grader at Frost Middle School in Livonia.

What I Do

As a Tech Coach, I work with teachers and their classes to use technology as a tool to dig deeper into student learning.  Through technology, I hope to empower the students by offering them choices in their learning by giving them control over what they need to learn and how they go about learning it.

Personal goals

I have a goal to run another half marathon, especially the Bayshore Half in Traverse City, Michigan.  I would also love to travel to Bora Bora.  It has been a lifelong dream of mine!  Eventually, I want to learn how to knit and to finish reading all the Newbery Award winning children's books.
